I admit to having had some challenges with keeping consistent on my physical goals so far. And, on top of that, there's just so much to do in a day that it's hard to get the workouts done AND blog about it! (Do you feel sorry for me yet? ... How about now? ... Now?)
I did have a friend's dog for part of April and during that time I was walking four times a day for a total of two hours per day. I did that in keeping with the dog's regular workout schedule. (You should see the muscles on this dog -- in addition to the walking, I'm sure it's lifting at least three hours a day!)
At the end of April, I heard a late-nite infomercial for a workout program that would ...
'transform your body in just 60 days!' Well, we've all heard that before and, in any case, I don't think I need their program. I can transform myself and I'm willing to see what I can accomplish on my own in the same 60 days. (Gulp!)
So for April 30th to June 30th, I have committed to the following:
- Weight-lifting workouts 3 times per week for a minimum of 45 minutes each
- Cardio workouts 2 times per week for a minimum of 45 minutes each
- CD 'workouts' using subliminal, hypnosis and other types of related audio programming for 60 minutes per day five days per week.*
To keep them measurable, I will be stating the goals in terms of the total number of workouts to the end of June. In other words, the above measures out to 18 cardio sessions, 27 weight-lifting sessions and 45 CD sessions.
This is what I have already accomplished:
Cardio: 3/18
Weights: 2/27
CD: 5/45
In addition, since I set these goals (only a few days ago), I have decided to add 12 walks of at least 20 minutes each.
Since I have already done one 30 minute walk this morning, I can include the following in my records:
Walk: 1/12
As an aside, I took my car in for repairs -- and walked back. I have to walk again to pick it up, so before the end of the day I will have a second walk in. :)
Perhaps I will take that big bad dog with me!
* Note, I originally made the CD goal 30 minutes each, but have since revised to 60 minutes each. The revision is reflected in the current totals. (The CD workouts are going much better than expected!!)
