Wow! I knew this already, but somehow making my intentions public creates even more awareness that time flies and it's challenging to make regular progress!
This is my first attempt to write out my Physical vision and goals. This is also the primary goal I am working on for 2012.
My vision:
I have a fit, healthy, energy-filled, beautiful, sexy, attractive and youthful, mind, body and soul. I turn heads when I walk by. It is difficult for people to know how old I am and, no matter how old I get, they generally assume I am in my early to mid-thirties. I feel this way also. I look after myself in a manner that ensures I will remain this way until and beyond the time when science and technology solve the issues of illness, aging and death.
Goals to December 31, 2012:
1. I will lose approximately* 4 lbs of body fat per month from March to December 2012 (for a total of 40 lbs) by working out at least five hours each week using the stationary bike and weights, walking my friend's dog (my 'rent-a-dog' -- haha), or any other method I may choose.
*I use the word approximately because I realize that muscle weighs more than the fat it replaces and I do not currently know how to calculate this factor.
2. I will support these physical goals by using the power of my mind for a minimum of 15 minutes daily; this includes visualization, meditation, prayer, law of attraction (and any other methods I may discover and include under my Spiritual goals).
3. I will do what is necessary to look after myself, including a minimum of 8 hours of sleep per night, eight glasses of water per day, and at least three hours per week on healthy food preparation and/or learning about nutrition, fitness, motivation, anti-aging, hormones, supplements, mind-body connection, assertiveness techniques, stress reduction and whatever else supports these goals.
Of note, self-help authors recommend writing out your 'whys' for each goal, as well as identifying your obstacles and the things that will support your progress. This will be my next step. In addition, I will also be creating two-, three- and five-year goals, however this portion represents the initial plan.
